Posthuset blir hotell En studie av Centralposthuset i Göteborg och dess omvandling

This essay in Art History treats the former Central Post Office in Gothenburg, Sweden, and its recent transformation into a luxury hotel. The magnificent original building in neo-classical style, inaugurated in 1925, has been supplemented by a twelve stories high tower in postmodern style containing hotel rooms and suites, creating a complex architecture. The approach of this essay is that of ?lived architecture?, that is, how people experience and act in relation to the building. It is argued that the history of the building is rewritten in the marketing of the hotel and the management?s concept of creating a comfortable ?mini-world?for its guests.

As today, companies are facing an increasing competition; markets are expanding while customers are getting more informed and fastidious toward companies and their products. For this reason it is crucial for enterprises to create loyal customers, or at best hyper loyal customers. With today's prerequisite this creation is difficult and it is therefore of highly interest to examine possible and alternative ways for enterprises to attain this type of hyper loyal customer. In this thesis we have examine hyper loyal football supporters with the aim to identify mechanisms that create and characterize this type of loyalty. By means of a survey and a focus group we were able to identify six loyalty mechanisms; the ability to influence, vicarious achievement, self-esteem, group affiliation, family and social relations.

Agile vs Hyper Agile : en studie av agilitet i metoder för datamodellering

Inom utvecklingen av de flesta typer av datorsystem används datormodeller för att strukturera lagringen och användningen av data. Likaså finns det flera olika datamodelleringsmetoder att välja bland för detta ändamål. I samarbete med ett företag har en fallstudie genomförts med syfte att undersöka hur agiliteten i två av dessa metoder påverkar utvecklingen av ett Data Warehouse (DW).  De två datamodelleringsmetoder som undersökts är Data Vaulting och Hyper Agility och arbetet har fokuserat på att undersöka skillnaderna mellan dessa när det gäller mängden ETL-kod som måste skrivas, funktionaliteten i datatransformationerna, möjligheten till att uppdatera systemstrukturen samt den totala kostnaden för utvecklingen av DW-lösningen. Inom ramen för fallstudien har en litteraturstudie genomförts och kombinerats med material från sex intervjuer, där respondenterna varit konsulter såväl som företagsrepresentanter.

Implementering och migrering av virtuell servermiljö

Denna rapport beskriver mitt projekt som utfördes hos Sundbyberg Stad våren 2009. Sundbyberg Stad behövde hjälp med att modernisera sin virtualiseringsinfrastruktur. Jag har i detta projekt undersökt, genom att ta reda på fakta hur Microsofts virtualiseringsplattform Hyper-V fungerar och vilka krav som ställs för att sätta upp en virtualiseringsmiljö baserad på Hyper-V. Utifrån mina undersökningar och kundens krav och önskemål, har jag planerat och implementerat en färdig virtualiseringsmiljö som baseras på Hyper-V. Denna miljö är uppsatt i ett s.k.

The study describes the problems with analysis of real estate companies after the introduction of IFRS. With the introduction of IFRS (2005) and specially IAS 40 the real estate companies get the ability to appreciate its real estates to real value. With the difference in the accounting, grows the question if it has become some differences for analysts with analysis and valuation of real estate companies. We also look into how well this new standard effect the real estate companies from the view of the accounting quality and its characteristics..

Att öka mottagligheten för branded content genom hyper-personalisering : En användarstudie mot målgruppen för digitala tidskrifter inom populärkultur.

I denna studie utreder jag om hur branded content mottas avmålgruppen för digitala tidskrifter inom populärkultur genom enframträdande teknik in webb-personalisering, hyper-personalisering.Målgruppen för denna studie är unga opinionsbildare som konsumerarinnehåll från digitala tidskrifter som exempelvis Nöjesguiden. Brandedcontent, sponsrat innehåll, är innehåll som skapas för att ett varumärkeskall förknippas med en kreatörs målgrupp. Alltså kan ett varumärke beNöjesguiden skapa redaktionellt innehåll som bör tilltala målgruppen förden digitala tidskriften, och på så sätt skall målgruppen få en nyuppfattning eller fortsatt positiv syn på varumärket. Hyperpersonaliseringär en teknik som appliceras för att kunna rikta innehåll,tjänster eller produkter mot individer inom en målgrupp med träffsäkerrelevans. Tekniken kräver en stor mängd insamlad social data och det blirdärför intressant att föra en diskussion kring hur målgruppen reagerar påatt man kan genomföra en sådan enorm insamling av data.

Mäklaryrket ur ett jämställdhetsperspektiv

The Profession of Real Estate Agents has by tradition been a male profession. However during later years the profession has changed. It is now many young women that are pursuing a career as a Real Estate Agent.In the light of this background we have researched how Real Estate Agents employed by Fastighetsbyrån and Svensk Fastighetsförmedling perceive their profession from an equality perspective.The investigation has been limited to include the counties of Värmland and Närke and have been conducted by interviewing Real Estate Agents of different age and sex and the managers of the firms.The study show that the Real Estate Agents perceive their profession in a positive way and that the work is divided equal. However it emerged that there were a division regarding different real estate types in certain agencies. The Real Estate Agents believe that the gender of the manager is of no importance.

Servervirtualisering : En jämförelse av hypervisorer

Virtualisering av servrar är på frammarsch och ser ut att bli ett mer och mer frekvent inslag i datacenter världen över. När virtualisering ska införas i en organisation eller företag är det därför viktigt att veta om sina behov och därifrån sedan välja en virtualiseringslösning som passar.Denna rapport presenterar en jämförelse av de tre hypervisorer som är ledande på marknaden för virtualisering; VMware ESXi, Citrix XenServer och Microsoft Hyper-V. Den första delen av jämförelsen innefattar granskning av funktionalitet hos hypervisorerna, så som stöd för gästoperativsystem och hårdvarustöd. Den andra delen av jämförelsen mäter prestandan på de tre hypervisorerna på gästoperativsystemen Windows Server 2008, Suse Linux Enterprise Server 11 och Ubuntu Server 8.04 LTS.Prestandatester utförs med SysBench och de komponenter som testas är processor, RAM-minne och hårddisk. Resultaten visar på varierande resultat för de olika hårdvarukomponenterna på de olika systemen som testats..

This puts a big pressure on the real estate agent to make the process run smooth. But how does the customer know which real estate manager to choose? We have researched what effect the real estate managers clothing has on the customers? first impression and how clothing affects customers? choice of real estate agents.To answer our questions we´ve done 13 projective interviews with ten customers and three real estate agents, where we showed four pictures with the same person dressed in different styles.

Finansiell analys med avseende på risk: En studie av svenska fastighetsbolag

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the status of Swedish real estate companies in terms of financial health and risk of financial distress. The background is the ongoing financial crisis, which partly can be derived from the American real estate sector. Publicly available accounting information from 16 listed real estate companies has been analyzed for a period of one year using financial ratios covering both the operational and financial activities. We find that the deceleration in the economy and in the real estate sector have forced the real estate companies to make large write downs, in line with the relatively new accounting rules, IFRS. Write downs are likely to reoccur during the following periods and real estate companies will therefore probably be forced to continue to show negative results.

Förvaltning på distans : Hur optimeras förvaltningen av en fastighet på distans?

The purpose of this thesis was to investigate how the distance between real estate manager and the managed item influenced the real estate management process. The overall real estate management within Lantmännen Fastigheter AB was investigated to give suggestions on how to improve the quality of the real estate management within the company. To do this, questionnaires, interviews and observations was performed within the Lantmännen Fastigheter AB organization. Real estate managers answered questions about their role as real estate manager, maintenance planning, decision processes, leasing and strategies within the company.The analysis of the questionnaires, interviews and observations showed that the real estate managers wants to rearrange their spent working hours around on working tasks to spend more time on the tasks that brings income and spend less time on tasks that are unsatisfying and unnecessary. The analysis also shows in which areas the real estate managers want more support and education and that they mostly work with unplanned maintenance.

Automatiska Värderingssystem - En hjälp för Fastighetsmäklaren?

Computers and business systems are used more frequently in a world where IT gradually is taking over. This is also true when it comes to the real estate valuation process where actors on the Swedish real estate market are using automatic valuation systems for real estate appraisal. But the real estate agents have not yet seen the charm in using these automatic valuation systems for real estate appraisal. Can the real estate agents also use the automatic valuation systems? We developed our three main subjects: the valuation process, an automatic valuation system and the real estate market with assistance from scientific articles.

Användning av realtidsdatabas i diagnostiksystem

The main purpose in this degree thesis is to investigate changes in performance when introducing a newly produced Real-Time database in one of CC Systems products, the Diagnostic Runtime Engine, DRE. The thesis is a collaboration between CC Systems, creator of DRE, and Mimer AB, developer of the Real-Time database.The result reveals that the time spent on database access is considerably lesscompared to the originally used database. The research has lead to several additional requirements on the real-time database and these are presented as part of the result in this thesis. The additional features will help making the product more suitable for DRE and similar applications.Additional research is required to be able to recommend the use of this product or not. Primarily the performance in another operating system, Windows CE, but also the introduction of additional features should be investigated.
